The Republic of Vanuatu is a group of more than 80 islands with an exclusive economic zone of 700,000 square kilometers in the South West Pacific. It has a population of about 200,000 and it is proud of its diverse Melanesian culture and traditions. Over 100 local dialects are spoken in Vanuatu. It became politically independent from France and the United Kingdom on 30 July 1980, adopting English and French as official languages in addition to Bislama, a common language. It is the only bilingual nation in the Pacific and one of few in the world. Its economy is mostly agro-based supported by a booming tourism industry and a reputable off-shire finance center.

Its natural charm, its diverse live culture and traditions, its bilingualism, its peace-loving people and its investment friendly environment offer great opportunities for both visitors and investors.

The above message is from the former Prime Minister Ham LINI VANUAROROA
