ORIGINS
Freetown - the hub of the nation's administrative, financial, educational, communications, cultural, and economic centre - is the largest city of Sierra Leone and a major port city on the Atlantic Ocean. It is the oldest capital to be founded by freed American slaves in 1787.

Founded in 1827, the first University in black Africa earned the name 'Athens of West Africa' from Fourah Bay College.

Led by a pro-active Chief Administrator, the progressive team at Freetown City Council strives to be a Planned, Pro-active, Productive, and People-Oriented Council, to deliver Prompt Services, working with key institutions to provide a tourist paradise and an investor's dream, with high returns on investment.
