Arts, Heritage & Culture

Kenya is a diverse country, with more than 42 ethnic communities, each with its own language, cultures and customs. Among the largest groups are the Kikuyu, the Luhya and the Luo. Kenyan art includes sculptures, masks and paintings. Dance and music are an important part of Kenyan culture, each group having its own distinctive style. A majority of the population is Christian; significant minorities include Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs.
