I am delighted to welcome you to the Grenada portal of the Commonwealth of Nations Website.
There have been significant changes in the global environment, which have led to a growing concern for the strengthening of the democratic process and a search for a new economic order that will address the concerns of small states.
The threats to small states posed by global warming, terrorism and inequitable distribution of resources make us vulnerable to the shocks of globalisation. The pace of change has forced small states to re-allocate already scarce resources away from our own developmental needs.
The Commonwealth however is and continues to be a very important part of the development process for member states including Grenada. As a member of this august body, we will continue to work with it to achieve the ideals to which we subscribe.
We continue to pursue the goals of global peace, strengthened democratic principles among nations and a shared commitment to address greenhouse gas emissions and global warming. This has a direct impact on our tourism industry and our development.
We welcome you to Grenada, whether on vacation or business and hope that your stay with us will give you chance to interact with our beautiful people and get a taste of our spices. We look forward to welcoming you to our shores.
